PATHWAY-27 includes 25 partners broadly distributed in Europe: west to east, south to north Europe, including one Candidate Country (Turkey). The EU Consortium consists of different organisation types, namely: Universities, Research Institutes and SMEs.
The Mandrup Group (http://www.sdu.dk/mandrupgroup) is located at Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at University of Southern Denmark. The group focuses on understanding the transcriptional network regulating adipocyte differentiation and in the molecular cross-talk between transcriptional regulation and metabolism in mammalian cells, in particular adipocytes and pancreatic β-cells. The group combines genome-wide studies mapping factor binding, epigenetic marks and chromatin structure with detailed molecular analyses of the cross-talk between transcriptional regulators. . The group is particularly interested in the function, regulation and mechanism of action of peroxisome proliferator activated receptors (PPARs) and in the transcriptional network controlling adipocyte differentiation. In addition, the Mandrup laboratory has a long-standing interest in lipid binding proteins and has generated mice with targeted disruption of the acyl-CoA binding protein (ACBP).
